Where do you live?
Today we used Google Maps to find out where we lived. We typed in our address and postcode and located on the map where our house was. It was great fun!

A windy Monday afternoon!
We braved the windy weather today to explore our local area. We began by finding our school on Google maps and talked about the roads and buildings nearby. Conor took lots of photographs with the I pad and then we came back to school to discuss all the signs and road markings we had spotted. Tomorrow we will try and make some maps of our immediate locality. Watch this space....
All wrapped up and ready to go!

Our first week in 2GS
This week we have been thinking about the sea. We watched some video clips of stormy seas as a stimulus to create our sea collages. We thought carefully about what colours to use.

New beginnings and challenges!
Both the teachers and children in Year 2 have settled back into school life. We have been very busy organising the classrooms and finding out where everything is. We have been sharing our holiday news and hearing about what all our friends have been up to. It sounds like everyone has had a lovely summer holidays.
Mrs Harrison has set the whole school a challenge this year and this is "To get even better with our maths". Year 2 started straight away by looking at the new resource, Numicon, we have to help us.
